10YRWAR tracks the evolution of Melbourne’s Matthew Charles, paying homage to his Hip Hop roots whilst incorporating electronic and RnB influences.

10YRWAR will be wow-ing the crowd at this year’s Fashion+Aid. I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with the talented man himself for 5 Minutes.

Tell us, what is the meaning behind the name 10YRWAR?

10YRWAR basically represents the 10 years I have spent in the music industry. When you are trying to do something different, put yourself out there you will have to take a few knocks, stumble and even fall down when trying to break the mould. I’m sure many people in the creative fields can relate. I love what I do, but sometimes…  it ain’t easy! Which happens to be the title of my new single.

As a musician, how important is fashion to you?

Not so much Fashion but style! I think it is a very important part of being a creative person and especially a musician.

How do you like your coffee?

Long black please!

The theme for this years Fashion+Aid  is Met Ball. Who or what is your inspiration for the night?

I like to go with the classics and I love a hat.
Give me Frank Sinatra or JT any day of the week.
