FRIDA
FRIDA
Swedish born singer/ songwriter Frida Harnesk has performed all around the globe, lighting up stages and events with her dynamic stage presence and vocal ability.
Frida is currently in Melbourne for this years Fashion+Aid, she will be hitting the stage on Sept 10th. I recently sat down with her for 5 minutes.
Tell me, how did you get started as a performer?
From a very young age I had a great passion for music and performing, everything that I did was centred around that. I spent many years. even up until this day, learning and developing my skills. I always knew I wanted to be on stage performing in front of people and I believe when you know who you are and what you want to do in life, you will always work towards it and see the opportunities that come your way.
To make a long story short, I was discovered in Sweden by a producer after handing in a music video that I made in high school, resulting in the release of my first single.
When I moved to Australia I kept working on my music and I got to know many people in the music/ entertainment industry. I was lucky enough that these people were so helpful with securing gigs and building my portfolio.
For those who don’t know you or your amazing voice. How would you describe yourself as an artist?
I would say that I’m a very versatile artist that believes to restrict your sound/ style only puts limitations on what can be created. I love to do everything from big, high energy, crazy shows to high end corporate shows, or even a smaller event. For me it’s all about the people that you work with and the energy that you receive from your audience and put back out.
You are performing at this yearsFashion+Aid, can you give us a little insight to what we might expect?
Yes of course! I love to perform with ether my own written songs or something that I have created, so for this event I have done a mashup of 3 modern tracks from 2016 that I believe will work really well for the catwalk.
How would you describe your personal style in 3 words?
Trendy, Colourful, Fun
Why do you think fashion so important in music?
Because Music is all about expressing yourself. To deliver a message, an emotion and a feeling. Fashion can really emphasise what is going on inside of you to the outer world. You are putting in to visuals what it is that you are trying to portray in a way that set’s the mood and makes it easier for your audience to feel and experience just that. Experience you!
What exciting things do you have coming up?
I’m working on some original tracks together with a few different producers. One of them is Jonny Murphy from the Potbelleez and we have almost finished a Big Room Dance track which i’m really excited about.
There are al lot of shows and events coming up in the near months and there might also be some overseas shows in the beginning of next year.
Don’t miss FRIDA at this years Fashion+Aid.
