LAUREN TATYANA.

Hailing from Sunny Queensland, singer Lauren Tatyana now calls Melbourne home. Lauren will be performing on Sept 10th at this year’s  Fashion+Aid. She will be performing on stage with one of this year’s designers.

What made you get into performing and when did you start?

I don’t think there was a clear defining moment that I began performing but perhaps being a middle child I was always fighting for attention. The best way to do this was to put on a show or sing a song for anyone willing to listen.

What’s your favourite piece of clothing from your closet and why?

At the moment I’m loving (more like desperately needing) any big jacket or coat- it’s proving to be an essential since moving from sunny Queensland to Melbourne.

What was your favourite gig that you’ve ever been to?

It wasn’t what I would classify as a “gig” but I once attended a church in Harlem, America and saw a gospel choir singing at a mass. The amount of soul and joy they brought to it made me leave feeling so inspired. Music has the power to bring so many people together and it was truly an amazing experience.

What is your favourite bar in Melbourne?

The Emerson
